The website includes an introduction, information about citizens, becoming a U.S. citizen, creating a sense of community, citizens' rights, etc. Within each tier of information there is an interactive different Word Play that students can take part in.

This article by Leah Davies illustrates twenty different ideas for teaching citizenship to children, specifically to students in the classroom. She provides many activites intended to foster citizenship in children through unique experiences. Some of the examples are simple, yet they can teach the students a tremendous amount about citizenship such as thanking or honoring local citizens who have contributed to the community.

In connection to the Unit, this is an excellent website in which students can be pushed above and beyond SOL objectives. This website focuses on the larger picture meaning the idea of becoming a global citizen. It illustrates ways students can become involved with other countries even though they are far away, such as raising money to buy school supplies for Afghan students. There are also some unique lesson plans and activities for teachers to use in their classrooms.

This is a website containing the lyrics and song displayed on the homepage of this website. An excellent way to convey your teachings to students is through the arts, specifically music and dance. With the lyrics, the students can learn the words and improve their concept and idea of citizenship.
